BPAs simplify the process used by agencies
to meet anticipated repetitive needs for services and
supplies in that they are easy ordering tools. BPAs also
provide greater flexibility allowing you to place task
and delivery orders with unlimited ceilings and a wide
scope for both services and products. In addition, the
use of BPAs under schedule contracts provide a streamlined
approach to acquire certain commercial services and supplies.
The objectives of BPAs are to obtain a better value;
support a specific mission; meet a specific purpose;
obtain a wider variety of goods and services; and obtain
commercial services and products for one or more offices
that do not have purchase authority. For continuity purposes,
a BPA will help establish long-term supplier relationships
between customers and vendors.
