April loves project management so much that she lives and breathes it. She believes in standing by her students to make sure they achieve their career goals. Below are some examples of how April is giving back to the project management community.
Ms. April O’Koren-Wennerberg, PMP, MBA is one of the 7 people who founded the Baltimore Chapter of the Project Management Institute with the help of the Washington, D.C. Chapter back in March of 1995. In the chapter formation April served as the VP of Finance for 2 years. She then moved up to president of the PMI Baltimore Chapter in 1997. April also served as president for the chapter in 2001 to 2002. April was awarded special recognition for Leadership by the PMI Baltimore Chapter in 1997 and 2001-2002.
April was the Co-Chair of the Education SIG of the Project Management Institute with Robert Ware, PMP for several years.
In her continued pursuit to educate the project management community, April has been a guest speaker at numerous PMI Baltimore Chapter events over the years.
Most recently, April was mentioned in the 20th Anniversary Edition Quarterly Newsletter, PMI Baltimore Chapter, October 2015 as one of only eight presidents that PMI Baltimore Chapter has had in its twenty years.
April was honored at the PMI Baltimore Chapter Gala and presented with yet another Certificate of Appreciation as Founder and Past President of PMI Baltimore Chapter on November 20, 2015.
April continues to keep Project Masters on the leading edge in project management by creating methods, tools, and techniques to keep our clients a step above the competition.
