Step Six E – Establish Project Goals and Objectives – Project Deliverables
Project Deliverables are measurable, tangible and verifiable outcomes, results, or items that must be produced to complete a project or part of a project. They are often used more narrowly in reference to external deliverables. Most project deliverables are subject to approval by the project sponsor or customer. The project deliverable can be found in the project contract or the project statement of work (SOW). The deliverables define the elements of the project that must be delivered to the customer.
Following is an example of Project Deliverable for a newsletter project:
Project Newsletter Deliverables
- Approval of Newsletter layout
- List of article topics
- List of volunteers to write articles
- Approval of newsletter layout
- Distributed newsletter
- Completed newsletter
Once the investigation team understands what the deliverables are, this should help them start to discover the project constraints.
