Step Six K -Establish Project Goals and Objectives – Project Stakeholders
The Project investigation team must be identifying all stakeholders and record the data in the Project Stakeholder Register. The stakeholder includes people like upper management, the project team, and members outside the project who have an interest in the project results. The stakeholder also includes the customer and user of the product.
This is an important role because, with all the information coming to the investigation team from many different sources in many different forms, the team who fails to decipher and pass on the appropriate information on time, can themselves become the bottleneck in making the Go or No Go decision.
It is important for the investigation team to know who the stakeholder will be on the project so they can gather the appropriate information from the stakeholders during the investigation.
Step Six L – Establish Project Goals and Objectives- Establish Project Strategy
The team needs to uncover during research and discovery what the true project strategy is and if it maps to the organization’s strategy. One of the most important rules executive management must remember is that their organization can’t be all things to all people. They need to stick to their area of expertise or they are setting themselves and the company up for disaster. That is why it is important for the team to identify the project strategy. Following is a project schedule showing the steps the investigation team will take during the Establish Project Goals and Objectives process of the Investigation Project.
